Two bridgesover the Ticino

The highlight of this route are the two iconic bridges in the Parco del Ticino. This circular route, which begins and ends in Pavia, covers almost 40 km. It sets off from the city centre and crosses the evocative Ponte Coperto bridge. You then head towards Borgo Ticino, a picturesque Medieval town on the other side of the river and historic home to launderers, gravel miners and fishermen. Riding north from here you can explore the green banks of the waterways towards Carbonara, Zerbolò and Parasacco. The return leg begins in Bereguardo and takes you along the Torre d’Isola road before arriving at the charming Ponte di Barche. This famous bridge was first built by the Visconti family in 1374 and has featured in several films.
