The Zanazziroute
This is a classic training ride for local cyclists. It’s dedicated to Renzo Zanazzi – three-time Maglia Rosa (Pink Jersey) wearer and team mate to Coppi and Bartali. He made Milan his home and was known by all the cyclists who rode this area. This route is perfect for sprint practice, but is suitable for all abilities. It takes you through wonderful countryside, such as along the Fosso Morto between Fallavecchia and the Morimondo Abbey – a fascinating site to visit. The route takes in farmhouses, restaurants and other places to find refreshments. Some sections take you on local roads, although traffic is usually light. It’s possible to shorten the route by taking the train between Milan and Gaggiano.
