HistoricTurbigo-Milan route

Until the last century, the Ticino river and the tributaries connected to the canals were commercial routes used to move goods, communications and passengers into the centre of Milan. The canal system was busy with traditional boats and barges, while the towpaths were lined with factories and workshops. This route brings that time to life. The route sets off from Turbigo station and follows the canal north towards Nosate. The cycle path then passes the power station and follows a branch of the Ticino to head back towards Milan. On the way back, the route passes through the small towns of Boffalora Sotto Ticino and the picturesque Robecco sul Naviglio.
