From the cityto the countryside

This route suits all abilities, not least because the return leg is partly by train from Gaggiano. The itinerary takes you from the city outskirts to the countryside, canals and amidst rural architecture. The church of San Cristoforo marks the start of the ride on the Naviglio Grande. You then pass through Villaggio Barona – an innovative example of urban social housing. After crossing the Lambro river and passing Cascina Battivacco, take the country lane that leads Assago, the historic Trattoria Santoro, Cascina Santa Marta and Ca Grande – Zipo di Zibido. The return journey takes in the wonderful Madonna del Dosso and the town of Gaggiano with its colorful houses reflected in the waters of the Naviglio.
